5 Fruits that Cleanse your Body

When it comes to finding the right foods to cleanse, fruit is chock full of vitamins, electrolytes and minerals that support your body in every way. You can always count on fruit to be a superfood powerhouse packed with nutrition and vital nutrients for your body and mind. We are made to digest fruit fast and efficiently to quickly provide the nutrients we need to thrive while ensuring the seeds make it back into the earth well fertilized :D. It might surprise you what fruit is capable of doing for your health if you give it a chance.


Here are five fantastic fruits to support the cleansing process!

 Apples:

 
Did you know that apples are one of nature's healthiest fruits!? Apples are full of vitamins and minerals that we all need everyday. The liquid gold that comes when you press raw apples into juice is a powerful tonic can help heal your entire entire digestive system with its cleansing powers. Spend everyday for one week juicing apples while drinking spring water with fresh squeezed lemon juice. See how light and energetic you feel, give your digestive system a break from years of digesting heavy oils, grains, and fibers. Feed your body simple sugars from raw organic apples and give yourself a fresh new start! Make sure to slowly reintroduce whole fruits and vegetables for a few days so you don't make your metabolism reset. We all know how difficult it is to get our metabolism into the best working order! Yes, cucumber is a fruit! Not only is it a fruit but it is one of the best fruits for cleansing purposes. Take a cucumber, chop it up into quarters and cover it in fresh squeezed lemon juice with a sprinkle of cayenne. It's filling and full of hydrating nutrient rich water that will make your skin say ooh and ahh from within! The darker your vegetables skin (or in this case, your fruit) the more cancer fighting antioxidant properties they contain. All of us should strive to ingest colors, and raw fruits are like the rainbow. Go ahead and taste it! During a cleanse is a great time to eat cucumber but you could also eat cucumber every day. Forget having it as the light topping to your sandwich, eat it as your whole meal! It's time to step away from the idea of the traditional breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Imagine yourself for a moment, walking along in nature, when you come upon a fruit you eat as much of it as you can handle and then continue on. See how each fruit reacts with your body one by one.

Avocados:

Here is another mysterious fruit that is often thought of as a vegetable. If you thought cucumber and apples were healthy, avocado is king of all the fruits when it comes to your health. Full of healthy fats to support your brain and skin, lubricate your joints and protect your organs. Make sure you scrape right down to the skin where most of the antioxidants are found. I love to eat avocado with a sprinkle of Redmond's Real Salt (shameless promotion for a US based awesome company and product!) Or make a delicious guacamole with onion, cilantro, jalapeno, and cherry tomato. Try it with rye crackers or slice up some Jerusalem Sunchokes for a nutritious treat! Who can't mention lemon or lime when talking about a cleansing fruit? Lemon and limes are incredible sources of vitamin c and high in antioxidants to keep your blood and body functioning properly. We should utilize these yellow and green treats during our cleanse and during our day to day life. Lemon and lime help destroy free radicals in our body. A good way to see this in action is by covering a slice of apple with lemon juice. Notice how it doesn't brown? Those are the anti-oxidants keeping the apple fresh just like they can help keep your body and mind fresh. Juice up! Roll them around on the table before you cut them to get the most juice for your efforts. Use the peels to make candied lemon peel. Find every way you can to eat or drink this superfruit. Your health will thank you for it later!

Berries get a whole section on their own! There are so many different kinds of berries and all of them are beneficial to your health! Whether it be grapes, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, mulberries, cherries, raspberries, goji berries, elderberries or saskatoons. Find a berry, make sure it's not poisonous of course, and eat it! Look for the colorful array of black, purple, red, and blue. The more colors you can find the better! Aren't they delicious too? What a wonderful way to feed your body and keep brain cognition ripe with raw berries.
